Verba ((ウクライナ語:Верба), (ロシア語:Верба), (ポーランド語:Werba)) is a village in Dubno Raion, Rivne Oblast, Ukraine. In 2001, the community had 2863 residents.〔(Registration card on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. ) 〕 == History == The first writing mention about a village is contained in Privilege of king Kazymyr to Denisko Mukosiyovich in Zbarazh and villages of Zbarazh Volost (for the term of life) "for safe service", given out by approbation Gentlemen-advices from January 12, 1442, in which a village is remembered among other villages of volost. In 1518 year village gets a city right from king Sigizmund I. 1545 – remembered in the revision of Kremenets castle, where it is marked that the proprietors of villages of Bereh and Verba retained one of goroden'. The proprietor of Verba in this source is adopt Andzhej Kunevskyj. In 1549 year a village was purchased by a gentry Mykhajlo Dashkovich Elovich-malinskiy. In 1564 years he got a local privilege on foundation of township and right to arrange auctions (one time per a week on Thursday) and fair in him (twice on a year). In western part of Verba, where ways which conducted in direction of Kremenets, Dubno, Kozyn and Brody, met, erected a town hall, houses of arrivals. A township was surrounded an earthen billow. Part of Verba, which was contained out of limits of billow, in future remained on position of village. Part of village, which had status of township was and remains presently a center. In 1774 years in a village lived 1282 people, there was a church which owned 90 tithe earth, studied to put in to church parochial to school. Verba is remembered in ”List of all postal stations in Volhynian Governorate” – life of village comes alive. It was related to that a postal-passenger highway lay through Verba, there was a post-house, where it was 34 horse. After the division of Poland of 1793 territory which Verba belongs to stepped back to the Russian Empire.
